My Final Year - My HK Experience

So 2012 marks my final year as an undergraduate student at the University of Pretoria. This has been one CRAZY year. Lets have a look at 2012 through my fingertips...

2012 marks the 50th Feesjaar of Huis Boekenhout and this meant that we will be going all out this year in all that we do... and we did! The paint on the Eiffel was stripped and it was then painted gold.

Golden Feesjaar Eiffel

This year began with me being a member of the Huis Boekenhout House Committee/Huis Komittee (HC/HK). There is no possible way that I can describe my HK experience except that it was the greatest experience of my life. Being HK was a very difficult position to uphold. My portfolios were Communications, Marketing and Spiritual. The nature of my portfolios meant that I was on duty 24/7. The joys of my portfolios meant that I was always on the internet and communicating with the outside world about Boekenhout. One of the roles of being part of the HK is being the face of the residence and being the first to resemble the 'Four Values of the Eiffel' which is Respect, Brotherhood, Pride and Tradition'. These are the values which we live by and grow by.

I fulfilled my duties alongside 12 guys who love Boekenhout as much as I do. We got to know each other and strengthen the brotherhood amongst us. We went through thick and thin together and always worked together.

Being a member of the Huis Boekenhout Feesjaar House Committee is an experience that I will never forget.
